What this calendar covers
Date Reference marks Norway’s named national holidays and treats ordinary Sundays as weekends. The source basis is the Public Holidays Act and the separate 1 and 17 May Act. Christmas Eve, Easter Eve and workplace-specific days off are not added as full national holidays. Government guidance distinguishes these eves from public holidays.
The engine accepts Gregorian years 0001–9999. Modern recurring rules are used from 1995, and 1 and 17 May begin in 1947. Earlier dates are projections, not reconstructed historical calendars. Future dates assume unchanged rules. The calendar does not determine entitlement to leave or pay.

ISO weeks and overlapping holidays
ISO weeks start on Monday. Week 1 contains 4 January, so the first or last dates of a calendar year can belong to a neighbouring ISO week-year. Calendar shows ISO week numbers alongside each row.
Two named holidays can fall on the same date. In 2027, Constitution Day and Whit Monday both fall on 17 May. Both names are listed, but the business-day planner excludes that date only once.
